Storytelling Organizations and Associations This is a listing of storytelling organizations with an online presence. This list is a compilation of sites obtained from several search engines, and various sites' links lists. The summaries are edited versions of those obtained from the previous sources, unless otherwise noted. A few sites have been personally reviewed by the Storybook Lady and are noted as such. National Storytelling Membership Association 116 1/2 West Main Street Storynet is the online presence for the newly reorganized National Storytelling Membership Association. This national organization for storytellers in United States sponsors the National Storytelling Festival, the National Storytelling Conference and Tellebration! Storynet gives you all the details. One highlight is the National Storytelling Directory. The most useful feature of the site is an extensive links directory. There are several categories children's sites, story collections, storytelling resources and their own list of other recommended sites with good links.
California Indian Storytelling Association The home page for The California Indian Storytelling Association has goals of the organization, upcoming events, membership information, and the newsletter.
Fox Valley Folklore Society The Fox Valley Folklore Society homepage features events, links, storytellers, and organizations in Chicago and nationally.
Florida Storytelling Association The Florida Storytelling Association The major event sponsored by FSA
has always been the annual Storytelling
Camp. .They also sponsor the Suwannee
River Storytelling Festival and
the Florida
Citrus Storytelling Festival.

League for the Advancement of New England
Storytelling (LANES) LANES is the Northeastern regional organization for storytelling. Chartered to promote the art and appreciation of storytelling, LANES is a non-profit membership organization with member storytellers and story fans throughout the New England states and upstate New York. LANES sponsors the Sharing the Fire storytelling conference annually in March, and publishes The museletter and the New England Directory of Storytelling, among its many activities.
Miami Storytellers Guild The Miami Storytellers Guild provides links to storytellers online, other resources available on the Internet, and upcoming events.
Storytelling Association of Alta California The Storytelling Association of Alta California site has information about events, tellers, classes, and festivals in Northern California and the San Francisco Bay Area.
WHEEL Council The WHEEL Council’s home page reflects its belief in using storytelling to solve everyday social problems and contains storytelling resources.
